Something New
You will be hearing the term Response to Intervention. In the near future, all parents will be receiving a letter explaining what this is all about.
RtI is the practice of providing high quality instruction and interventions matched to student needs, monitoring progress frequently to make decisions about changes in instruction or goals, and applying child response data to important educational decisions.
Teachers always use good teaching practices; however, we want to identify those students who are experiencing difficulties in reading and math and give them some different instruction to accelerate their learning. The students will be monitored weekly to determine progress.
