Dear Parents,
Welcome to second grade, I'm looking forward to working with your child.

In second grade we will be working on skills that they learned in first grade.  However, your child will learn some higher level skills  that will improve his or her learning experience.

I expect my students to work hard and learn everything they can, so they will be successful in life and be self-sufficient adults. I'm very excited about the new technology and computer skills that we have in our curriculum this year.

Homework is very important, so they can practice what they learned on class that day.  Our homework consists of reading, math, and spelling.  It will need to be returned to school the next day for a grade.  A homework grade will be taken at the end of the six weeks.  They need to read at least twenty minutes every night and be ready to take an AR test the next morning.  Completing assignments and turning them in on time make a big difference in your child's grade. Please continue to encourage your child to keep up the good work.

I want to thank you for allowing me to teach your child.  I will strive to provide quality instruction and unlimited learning opportunities for all my students in a positive caring manner.

I will strive to provide quality instruction and unlimited learning  for all my students in a positive caring manner.

Together we can promote a positive love of learning that will last a lifetime.  Your help and support is appreciated.

                                                         Thank You,
                                                          Mrs. Beverlye Gunn

Consequences
*Several verbal warnings will be issued before the child will have to move his or her pin to another color.
*Three moves and the child will not get a sticker on their folder, it will be a note home.
*I will take recess away from the child if the behavior continues.
*Sometimes I make them write sentences, if taking away recess doesn't work.
*I  may also give them extra work in class.
