Third's Grade Journey To Success

Welcome to third grade as we journey our way to success!! I have many exciting lesson and activities planned this year. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know each of you. Childress is a great place and full of friendly people. Making my home here was a wise decision. Thank you for the opportunity to help the student's grow socially and intellectually.
I hope everyone had a great summer and ready to jump into learning. You will learn so many new and exciting things this year from planets and rocks to multiplication and reading skills. We will research and create and along the way have fun doing it.
Student's will take the Reading TAKS test in February. We will prepare throughout the year to ensure success for all students. Sit back, take a deep breath, and know that we will learn so many exciting things this year. Again I am thrilled to have the pleasure of teaching you and watching you grow this year.
Below I have included our classroom rules and classroom discipline plan.
Classroom Rules:
* Follow directions
* Raise hand to speak
* Stay in your seat
* Be courteous
* Use appropriate language
Classroom Discipline:
* 1st Offense: Verbal Warning
* 2nd Offense: Miss a portion of recess time
* 3rd Offense: Miss all of recess
*4th Offense: Visit to the office
Homework:
Homework will be given Monday through Thursday. Each day you will have math, spelling, and reading. Math homework will be geared toward the objective that we are studying. Spelling homework will match the spelling rule for the week. There will be 20 minutes of reading a night which will count toward your AR reading points. Friday you will have no homework so that you can enjoy your weekend and get rested for the next week of school.

8:00-8:10: PAWZ TV and Morning Work
8:10-9:10: Reading
9:10-9:30: Spelling
9:30-10:00: CES Lab
10:00-10:30: Sharon Wells Problem Solving and Saxon Math
10:30-11:30: Sharon Wells Math Lesson
11:30-11:50: Writing/ English
11:50-12:30: Lunch and Recess
12:30-12:40: Bathroom and Drink
12:40-12:55: Continue Writing/ English
12:55-1:40: P.E. (MWF)
1:40-1:50: Handwriting
1:50-2:20: Social Studies and Science- rotate subjects every 3 weeks
2:20-2:50: Tier 2 and AR Reading
2:50-3:00: Prepare for home
