SAFETY CAMP

September 9th and 10th Childress Elementary 3rd and 4th Graders attended Safety Camp sponsored by Texas Agri Life. Students were welcomed by Lonnie Jenschke, County Extension Agent. After the welcoming students were divided into groups and attended the 8 different stations. Stations included:
Dan Hawthorne- TXDPS - Seat Belt Safety
Barbara Seal - TXDOT - Roll Over Convincer
Dana Wright and Chip Ruthven - Snake Safety
Mike Donathan - CISD - School Bus Safety
Misty Gillem - Food and Personal Hygiene
Ben Teague - Gun Safety
Mike Pigg - Childress Co. Sheriff - Personal Safety
Childress Regional EMT - Emergency Vehicle Safety
The presentations made at the CES Safety Preparedness Day were outstanding. Students will be encouraged to make a safety plan for their house in the next week.
Miss Word and her staff would like to thank all the presenters for the excellent job they did. She feels certain that these students will be better prepared to meet any emergency they encounter.
