I teach English IV and am the head volleyball and track coach. I also assist with basketball and am a co-sponsor for our local FCA. I am in my 11th year of teaching/coaching and my 8th year here at CHS. I graduated from CHS in 1992 and am proud to continue my tenure as a Bobcat!
I graduated from West Texas A&M University in 1996 and taught/coached at Wheeler, Texas for two years. I married the love of my life, ♥♥♥Erik Kirkpatrick♥♥♥, in June of 1998 and moved to be with him in Hart, Texas. We were there for one year before moving to Childress.
♥♥♥Erik♥♥♥ and I have three awesome kids!! Our first daughter, Kristen Jill, was born June 18, 1999. Katy Janae was born on June 25, 2000, and David Weldon came along on July 19, 2002. Kristen is in the third grade and Katy is in second, both at Childress Elementary School. David attends pre-school at Kids' Korner with Debbie Pierce. They are the coolest kids in the world and are such a joy to ♥♥♥Erik♥♥♥ and me!
I am the daughter of David and Darlene Galligan. David is employed by CISD as the Weight Room Manager and Darlene teaches 7th grade at Childress Junior High. My brother John Galligan teaches/coaches at Childress High School and is married to Kammie. My sister Sarah Galligan is a teacher/coach at Bowie Middle School in Amarillo. My baby sister Emily Galligan is employed by McCormick Advertising in Amarillo. Jan Pickett is my mother-in-law and is employed by Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Wichita Falls, and my sister-in-law Tonya Pickett is a third-year dental student at the University of Texas in Houston.
I am a member of the Childress Church of Christ. I also volunteer for CASA of the Rolling Plains.
I love what I do and look forward to what the 2007-08 school year brings!
In Senior English we have just finished reading Beowulf and have just begun The Prologue to The Canterbury Tales. The seniors spent all of last week with Mrs. Jones working on their resumes, budgets, etc and beginning the process of applying for college. It is amazing how fast this year will go by for them, so it is important that they take care of all of this early! I am truly enjoying the seniors this year and getting to know each of them!!
