I graduated from Midwestern State University in 1987 with a BBA in Finance. I received my teaching certification from WTAMU in 1996. I have taught at Childress Jr High School since 1996.
I have been married to John Helm since 1984. I have a son and two daughters. Bo is a Senior at CHS, Jansyn is a Freshman and Jaci is in First Grade at CES. I feel that parental involvement is a very important part of a child's education and development.
I currently teach 6th grade Reading and Math and 8th grade Math. I strongly believe that all children can learn and become productive citizens when motivated to do so. In our society today, children are faced with many challenges but also with many opportunities. They need direction and encouragement to use their talents wisely.
