I think that the study of history and geography is fascinating and exciting.  I thoroughly enjoy teaching U.S. History.  I have had the privilege of teaching U. S. History at Childress Junior High School for the past 6 years. I am excited about this next year.  Our new laptops will give my students and I so many new opportunities.

I have been happily married to Randall Ryan for 37 years.  We have four children. Heather lives in New York where she works as a registered nurse.  She has two children--Ryan, 13 and Donny, 9. Paul, his wife Jennifer, and their children live in Granbury where he is principal of Tolar Elementary School. Jennifer is an instructional specialist for Granbury ISD. Paul and Jennifer have two children--Ashley, 12 and Hunter 10. Hannah, her husband Hunt, and their children live here in Childress.  Hannah is a teacher at Childress High School and Hunt works at Lott's Home Furnishings.  They have two children--Sam, 5 and Maddie, 3.  Our youngest son, Zack lives in Roswell, New Mexico and is married to Beth.  Zack is a teacher and coach at Goddard High School and Beth is an attorney.

I believe in the value and worth of each child.  I am committed to helping each and every one of my students to be successful.  When my students leave my class at the end of the year I want them to have a good and clear understanding of the history of their country.  Hopefully, knowing and understanding the history of their country will make them better citizens.  I am willing to do whatever I can to accomplish this goal.  I believe in creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere in my classroom.  Also, I consider it vital that all students feel valued.  I have a sign in my classroom that says, "Stop! This is an insult-free zone!"  The sign is not for decoration.
