Hello, my name is Gina Inman. I have lived in Childress most of my life. I graduated from Childress High School and from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education and English. I began my teaching career 18 years ago. Presently, I teach English III, English III DC and English IVDC.

One of the biggest challenges I face is the TAKS test. Each year I prepare my students to take the English/ Language Arts TAKS test in March. Reading, comprehension, analyzing and writing are the skills we work on the hardest. Not only are these skills for TAKS, they are skills that are used in order to succeed in our working society.

In dual credit classes we strive for higher order thinking skills. These students are college bound, and I gear these courses with more reading, analyzing and writing. We also go through an intense college bound vocabulary study.

English IVDC is a dual credit course. That means the students get credit for high school English IV and Freshman Composition 1301-1302 through Clarendon College. This is an intense writing year; however, the students leave high school with six hours of college credit. It is a privilege to be part of this program.

My ultimate goal is to prepare a student to function in work, college, life and the world.
