Erik Kirkpatrick Named High School Principal

The Childress Independent School District Board of Education met in
a special session Tuesday at noon to discuss the principal position
at Childress High School.
During the meeting, the board unanimously approved the hiring of
Erik Kirkpatrick as the principal at CHS.
Kirkpatrick succeeds Toby Tucker who has accepted a position as the
Assistant Superintendent at CISD.
He has been the assistant principal for six years and was a coach
from 2001 to 2005. He has a knowledge of the students and the
school at CHS.
"I'm looking forward to being the principal at Childress High
School," Kirkpatrick said. "I will continue the positive things
taking place at the school with the technology and progressive
attitude that makes Childress High School one of the best in the
nation. It is an honor to be the principal at a campus with such
great faculty and outstanding students."
Kirpatrick is a 1992 graduate of Burkburnett High School and a 1997
graduate of West Texas A&M University with a Bachelors degree
in Kinesiology. He earned his Masters of Education Administration
from WTAMU in 2006.
He is married to Amanda Galligan Kirkpatrick and they have three
children; Kristen, 8, Katy, 7, and David, 5.
