**Attention, all graduating senior and escorts: Graduation practice has been changed to 1:00 Friday, instead of 10:00.**

Childress ISD will host public tours of the Childress Junior High School campus on Tuesday, June 2, at 6:30 pm. You are invited to join us for a first-hand look at this facility.

The football stadium will be closed on Friday, May 22, in preparation for graduation. The gates will open at 7:00pm, and graduation will begin at 8:00pm. We are so excited to celebrate our 2026 Childress High School graduates!

It's almost time for the summer lunch program!

What: FREE lunch!!
When: May 26-June 26, Mondays through Thursdays, 11:30am-1:00pm
Who: Kids 18 and under (Childress residency is *not* required!)
Where: Childress Elementary School Cafeteria, 300 3rd St SE

You are welcome to eat your meal at the cafeteria or pick it up to-go. Friday meals will be sent home with kids on Thursday. Additional parent meals are available for $5. We look forward to serving you!

The CJHS Academic and Sports Awards ceremony is tonight! 6:00! Your child received an invitation if they are being recognized!

Tomorrow, CJHS have the Battle of the Classes! Students in all grades will be competing in several events: “Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader” Around the world basketball Egg drop race Ultimate football Relays Ultimate football Parents are welcome to join once we get to the football field around 1:45. Once we are done, Students may leave with their parents after notifying their homeroom teacher. (Should be done by 3pm). The busses will run as normal from CJHS. Please send water and sunscreen for your kiddo. A drawstring backpack might not be a bad idea!! ***Lunches will be at 11:00am!

Water service has been restored to the elementary school campus. Classes will resume at regular time tomorrow. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation during this situation. We look forward to welcoming students and staff back on campus tomorrow.

Childress Elementary School will be dismissing students today, May 12, 2026, at 9:45 due to a water main break that has left the building without water. Buses will run their normal routes starting at 9:45. If you do not want your students riding the bus, please call the office (940)937-6313. Parents/Guardians may begin picking up students now.--
