A safe alarm was activated at the Elementary School Campus a few minutes ago. Officers did respond. There is no threat. The safe is being analyzed for a technology glitch. Again, there is no threat.

The north end of the Junior High Practice Field is cleared for normal activities. Yesterday afternoon, a hole appeared, prompting the school district to restrict access until the area could be investigated further. It was determined that soil from an old water well had eroded, possibly due to the recent rains. The Childress Fire Department inspected the area and instructed CISD Maintenance personnel on how to excavate the area, refill it, and compact the soil.
Those measures have been taken. At this time, CISD has no reason to believe it is unsafe.
We look forward to celebrating all of our students' accomplishments this year!
The district is experiencing a phone and internet outage due to a damaged line. We will post further information as we receive it.
The Childress Junior High Practice field is OFF LIMITS to the public at this time due to a hole at the north end of the field. Until we determine the cause of the hole, NO baseball or softball teams may practice on the field. Thank you!
8th grade parents - The parent meeting with the High School Counselor will be Monday 5/5 from 5:30 to 6:30 at the CJHS Auditorium! PLEASE plan to be there! This meeting is very important for their high school planning!
