Childress ISD would like to clarify some information that is out in our community. We are NOT planning to let out school or move to virtual learning at this time. We are, however, making sure our students are ready if the time arises when we do need to move from in-person learning to virtual learning. We are constantly monitoring the information we receive regarding students and employees who are positive for COVID-19. At this time, we only have 1% of our students and 1% of our employees who have tested positive for COVID-19. According to area school districts, this is comparable to what they are seeing as well. Since the beginning of this pandemic, we have been working closely with Childress Regional Medical Center, the County Judge, the City Manager and Childress Mayor to monitor the status of our community and make decisions that will be best for the district and community. As a community group, we will make the decision when the time arises but until then Childress ISD will continue to offer in-person learning.
